ABOUT MAYA
I am Maya Moise, a Broward County native shaped by a Haitian father, a German and Caymanian mother, and a family that taught me to value culture, community and perspective. That foundation made service central to who I am. I believe service is the highest form of leadership because real impact is measured by the people who are stronger, safer and more prepared because you showed up.
I first found purpose in sports medicine, helping athletes recover, perform and feel cared for. At Rice, that commitment grew into sport law and athlete advocacy. I learned that protecting athletes also means understanding the contracts, policies, brands and business decisions shaping their lives.
Today, I bring an athlete’s discipline, a researcher’s curiosity and an advocate’s responsibility to every room I enter. I keep growing so I can create opportunities, open doors and help athletes build lives as meaningful as their careers.
SERVICE IS THE HIGHEST FORM OF LEADERSHIP.

FEATURED EXPERIENCE

WME BASKETBALL · SUMMER 2025
Working across WME Basketball showed me how strategy, trust and execution come together around elite talent. I contributed to the work behind the athlete, not only the moments the public sees.
“It is about building legacies, not just careers.”

ENTREPRENEURSHIP · COMMUNITY · GROWTH
As Co-Owner and Director of Direct-to-Consumer Growth, I help build an athlete-led strength brand around the people who live the work. I shape audience growth, merchandising, creative testing, partnerships and the customer journey while protecting an identity rooted in real lifting culture.
IMPACT, BUILT TO LAST
Across representation, live events, business operations, research, creative and law.
NEST, the Sport Law Society and Olympic Weightlifting created opportunities that did not exist before.
Olympic weightlifting and powerlifting competitions completed during my time at Rice.
Undergraduates competing in rooms built for law and graduate students.

THE ATHLETE’S PERSPECTIVE
Strength sport taught me to trust preparation, remain composed under pressure and take responsibility for every outcome. It also showed me why representation matters. Women, especially Black women, remain underrepresented in lifting, and visibility can change who believes they belong on the platform.
Discipline is quiet, confidence is earned and pressure reveals preparation.
To expand what strength looks like and help more athletes see themselves represented.

ACADEMIC & LEADERSHIP INITIATIVES
At Rice and beyond, I turned unmet needs into organizations, curricula, competitive pathways and athlete centered ventures. Leadership means leaving every place stronger than I found it and making the next person’s path more possible.
Co-Founded Rice’s first undergraduate sport law organization and created pathways into legal mentorship, scholarship and national negotiation competitions.
